    A preliminary study led by researcher, Rebekah J. Walker found that people living in neighborhoods previously subjected to redlining are more likely to suffer from health problems, largely due to reduced access to healthy foods, highlighting the ongoing impact of historical racial discrimination on public health. 

  • UB student brings 3D-printing expertise to Buffalo’s Tool Library

    Jason Jiang, student and Western New York Prosperity Fellow, uses his skills in 3D printing to repair tools and promote sustainable practices at The Tool Library, a nonprofit lending program in Buffalo. Through his innovative work, he helps reduce waste, support community resourcefulness, and advance carbon-saving initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable Buffalo.
