The White House issued a number of Federal Executive Orders that pertain to federal grants and programs. This webpage features updates and resources related to these federal orders and other federal actions affecting federally funded research. Check back often for updates.

Stay engaged with Sponsored Projects Services (SPS) and your Associate Dean for Research (ADR)

  • If PIs receive stop-work orders or other notifications directly from a funding agency, please forward to vpr@research.buffalo.edu. Sponsored Projects Services (SPS) will provide guidance on implementing the order and will handle any necessary follow-up communications with the funding agencies including any related to an appeals process.

Proposal Submissions

  • SPS will continue submitting proposals as usual, as federal submission portals remain active.
  • Keep in mind that sponsor review timelines and/or criteria may change as federal agencies consider new funding requirements.
  • Stay in contact with your proposal specialist within SPS for guidance.
  • Verify submission deadlines and monitor any changes to funding announcements.

Active Awards - Projects/Purchases/Personnel

  • Continue to work on and make purchases for grants. Guidance will be provided if this information changes.
  • Ensure all outstanding reports are submitted on time.
  • No-cost extensions and continuations: SPS will submit as normal if portals remain available.

Outgoing Subawards

  • Any official notifications from sponsors affecting subrecipient agreements must be coordinated and communicated through SPS.

Non-Federal Funded Grants

  • Continue to work on and make purchases for your non-federal awards. Guidance will be provided if this information changes.
